TRI-GLOBAL is developing a new multi-passenger electric tricycle for group transport. The project is aimed at operators who need a practical electric vehicle to move larger groups of people over short and medium distances in controlled operating environments.

The vehicle is currently in the research and development stage. The images shown here illustrate the design direction under evaluation; the final appearance, seating arrangement and technical specifications will be confirmed only after engineering validation and testing.

Why TRI-GLOBAL is developing this vehicle

Conventional passenger tuk tuks are well suited to small groups, but some customers need a vehicle that can move more people per trip while remaining easier to operate and maintain than a full-size bus. This need appears in agricultural production areas, industrial sites, resorts, campuses, communities and scenic destinations.

Our development goal is to combine the maneuverability of an electric three-wheeler with a longer, open-sided passenger compartment. A roof provides basic shade, while the open layout is intended to support easy boarding, clear visibility and natural ventilation in warm climates.

Key engineering areas under evaluation

Because this concept carries a larger passenger group than a standard tuk tuk, the R&D process focuses on the complete vehicle rather than a single component. Current evaluation areas include:

• Passenger layout: access, seating arrangement, handholds and practical circulation.
• Structure and load distribution: frame strength, body rigidity and balanced loading across the chassis.
• Ride and control: suspension, steering, braking and stability for the intended operating environment.
• Electric power system: matching the motor, controller, battery and charging solution to route, terrain and duty cycle.
• Weather and visibility: canopy coverage, lighting and options for different climates.
• Serviceability: access to routine maintenance points and commonly replaced components.

Target application scenarios

The concept is being considered for fixed-route and on-site group transport, including staff movement on farms and agricultural parks, employee shuttles inside industrial facilities, guest transport at resorts and tourist attractions, and internal mobility for campuses or large communities.

Different markets may require different seating layouts, speeds, battery systems, lighting, braking configurations and compliance documentation. For that reason, the project is being developed as a configurable platform rather than a single fixed specification.

Designed for localization and OEM/ODM projects

TRI-GLOBAL works with importers, distributors and fleet operators to adapt electric vehicles to local conditions. Potential options for this multi-passenger platform may include body colour, canopy design, seating layout, battery type, charger input, lighting, branding and packaging. Available options will depend on engineering feasibility and destination-market regulations.

Customer input during the development stage is especially valuable. Route length, road quality, gradients, climate, charging time, passenger flow and local compliance requirements all influence the final configuration.

Development status and next steps

The project remains under active development. Our next steps include refining the layout, completing engineering reviews and preparing the vehicle for prototype validation. We are not announcing final capacity, range, payload, production timing or pricing at this stage because those details must be verified through testing.
